What a truly bigoted and narrow minded reason not to vote for someone. Really shameful. I'm not necessarily going to vote for this guy, but to hold someone's religious commitments and service against them is the height of mean-spiritedness. To me it would be like a liberal saying "I won't vote for so-and-so because he was an Iraq War veteran and murdered babies."

I don't like it when Mormon's come to my door and try to convert me, and I assume that many other people don't as well. It is an inconsiderate form of personal behavior. It may not be as bad as some people of other religions have done (i.e. the "Religion of Peace"), but out of 300,000,000 choices I think I'd prefer someone who hadn't done it.

But that's the beauty of our system, we can do just that. I won't vote for him because he's Mormon. And that's my right. Shaming people for not being able to in good conscious vote for someone that belongs to what many consider a cult is hardly a valid argument.

I wouldn't vote for someone who is Islamic either - based on that fact alone.

It's very interesting that both George Allen and now Mitt Romney are being hit w/derogatory charges. After all, you know, they are being mentioned as future Republican presidential candidates. Could it be that the Hillary forces are trying pre-emptive destruction of strong opponents to her own ambition?
