re: In truth, the whole performance defies reason.

I couldn't disagree more. It's classic vintage Clinton. Decide how you would like a situation to have played out, especially now that you know the outcome of how it actually played out, and then shout your desired outcome at the top of your voice from the rooftop, proclaiming it to be the truth. That was Clinton at his best, or worst depending on your opinion of him.

I find the episode depressing. As a child of the early 50's I find it unbelievable that Amercia has come to the point that an ex-President can go on TV and tell lie after life, distortion after distortion and rewrite history to his liking and there is virtually no one to hold him accountable for his actions. It was always that way with him and his ilk. Their approach was the same to every scandal they were involved in. First was denial, then go after those who are calling attention to the wrongdoing, then leak information that gives you the advantage of getting your story out on your terms, then obfuscate and delay legally every attempt by the system to hold you accountable. When it turns out the stain on the blue dress is exactly what she said it was, and exactly whose she said it was, depend on your cronies in your party and the MSM to act like it doesn't matter anyway. Drag it out and out and out, until everyone is simply exhausted from dealing with it and then move to the next scandal.

It's just very depressing to me.

Concise summing up of the classic Clinton strategy. And the media, no matter how tired of carrying the water every which way for them, just keeps on carrying those buckets.

About time they finally got some serious negative press from all around for this little implosion. It absolutely works against Hillary. People, and not only conservatives, are saying today that it reminds them why they wouldn't like The Clintons back in the WH.

Hillary cannot be thanking Bill. This hurts her. If I were him, I'd let other people start my cars.

In 1950, Boston U. president Daniel Marsh said: "If the television craze continues...we are destined to have a nation of morons."
