"Why then did the Junk Media and the Democrats hyperventilate about this April 2006 Report?"
The best they can come up with as the 2006 mid-term elections approach. If the dems put a lot of faith in the leaked portion of the NIE, the rest of the NIE refutes their "cut-n-run" position. Wonder how much faith they will place in that part of the NIE?

We also assess that the global jihadist movementwhich includes al- Qaida, affiliated and independent terrorist groups, and emerging networks and cellsis spreading and adapting to counterterrorism efforts.
Why wouldn't they 'adapt' to our counterterrorism efforts when the likes of the traitorous NYT continues to inform them of our efforts?

The Iraq conflict has become the .cause celebre. for jihadists, breeding a deep resentment of US involvement in the Muslim world and cultivating supporters for the global jihadist movement. Should jihadists leaving Iraq perceive themselves, and be perceived, to have failed, we judge fewer fighters will be inspired to carry on the fight. Well, it does make that claim but it's not a 'bad thing' in my opinion. Before Iraq it was bases in Saudi Arabia, before that it was the Joooos, in fact since the Chicago White Sox won the World Series, the number of terrorists in the world has gone up about 25%. Good Lord imagine what would happen if the Cubs won!

Declassified Key Judgments of the National Intelligence Estimate Trends in Global Terrorism: Implications for the United States dated April 2006 This document is the declassified Key Judgments from the larger, classified National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Trends in Global Terrorism: Implications for the United States that was produced in April 2006. The NIE analyzes the nature of the threat that terrorist groups across the world will pose to US lives and interests, including the Homeland, during the next five years.

The president should immediately declassify each and ever document that has been leaked to the New York Times. It should be immediately presumed that the enemy has received the document and therefore no need to keep it classified especially when only selected parts of the documents are used by his enemies to impugn the administration.

There are several key quotes, but this one gets my attention.
We assess that the Iraq jihad is shaping a new generation of terrorist leaders and operatives; perceived jihadist success there would inspire more fighters to continue the struggle elsewhere.
Translation--- if we cut and run, the jihadists will perceive that as victory for them, which will inspire more terrorists.

MSNBC keeps only reading the first sentence. Completely skipping over the second one.

CNN just issued a news brief via email. It states:
-- Key conclusions of a report assessing the state of global terrorism are released after President Bush ordered its declassification. One assessment is Iraq is shaping a new generation of terror leaders.

I'm hoping the October Surprise will be quite Rovian - the name(s) of the leaker(s).

Who cares. MORE people listen to Talk Radio then watch the nightly news. This was a spiking of THEIR PR campaign propgaganda efforts, not an effort to get info out for our side.
