I didn't see the debate but a fellow attendee at tonight's rally said to Swann she thought he won it hands down. Of course, this was a Swann rally/Town Hall meeting. Anyway, Swann speaks very well and is able to answer all kinds of questions. He even showed us his rings. LOL

The race for PA Gov is over. Swann will be lucky to get 40%. Bottom line.
- He has no money and he is clueless on the issues. (AKA No substance and details)

Swann's poor showing is also hurting Santorum. If Santorum loses, it will be due to Swann’s poor performance.

It is sad but the GOP had a real chance to win the Gov race this year. They had at least two good candidates.

Bill Scranton
Pro - Money, Lt. Gov = Experience, Family Name
Con - Absent for 10 years out of the state, A little too liberal socially, some baggage (His religious beliefs)

Jeffrey Piccola
Pro - Very qualified, Well versed on the issues and a critic of Rendell, Very conservative
Con - No name recognition, Potential fundraising issues

I guarantee either of these candidates would have made a far better candidate than Swann. Scranton could have forced the issues to overcome his baggage. Piccola has a very good following with Business in Central PA and would have raised the funds. No Name recognition … that is what a campaign is for.

What do the Republicans do... They decide to go Celeb on us. Actually the State GOP had their hands tied by the National Party. Swann was selected because he fit this year's template. Simply put, he was chosen for his Skin color. Oh Swann will say that "he was not hand picked" but the TRUTH is that the National GOP cleared the way for him to breeze through the primary season unopposed.

So much for the next 4 years and the hope of property tax relief. Maybe the state GOP will nominate Jerome Bettis in 2010. He fits the Swann template. Black, Ex football player, and NOT QUALIFIED. Perfect Fit!

Speaking of Polls Keystone poll:
Rendell - 52%
Swann - 34%
