This Wallace interview is remarkable in many respects.
Clinton's unhinged and dissembling response to what might have been just another innocuous question (essentially the same as those Wallace asked Rumsfeld earlier) revealed what many have known all along:
this is not a brilliant intellectual, an erudite politician possessing great political insight, or a great leader in the mold of Washington, Jefferson, or even Franklin Roosevelt (surprise to Chris Matthews). Instead, he is an impostor, the "Boss Hogg" of American Democratic politics, who, when unexpectedly cornered about misdeeds, goes ballistic, forgetting the manners his teachers tried to teach him in grade school.

"But Clarkes book does not, in fact, support Clintons claim. That was not the book I would have picked were I Clinton."
Clinton counts on his worshipers to accept whatever he says at face value, facts be damned, as is their habit.

That's the same Richard Clarke that authorized CENTCOM's request for the USS COLE to refuel in Adan, over the objections of the Ambassador Barbara Bodine who said the threat was too high.
All so CENTCOM could "gain influence" in the region.
And Clinton maintained the CIA and FBI wouldn't act on his recommendation. Seems like Bush came in under that same "comprehensive strategy" to me. It was Bush's fault, but not his...
I'll never forget those empty, hollow promises by Clinton and Gore that they would go after the terrorists who bombed Kobar towers, who swore they would respond to the bombing of USS COLE.
DO THEY REALLY THINK WE HAVE NO MEMORY OF THAT AT ALL?

There is a lot of talk about BJ being a narcissist, but I wonder if there is more to it than that?
He looks to be a man who literally sold his soul to the devil, in order to fulfill his dream of getting into the White House. Now that he is getting older and knows the time to repay his debt will be coming soon. The only thing that gives him any comfort, is his so-called legacy.
He is not a man who is aging gracefully. He hates being sixty. He has lost whatever looks he once had. His goal has been obtained and he has little left to look forward to, except fire and brimstone, so he lashes out at anyone who criticizes his inactions and treachery in the White House.
Am I way off base here?

Republicans boxed Clinton in, Clarke writes, beginning in the 1992 campaign, with criticism of Clintons avoidance of the draft as a young man, and extending all the way to the Lewinsky scandal and the presidents impeachment. The bottom line, Clarke argues, is that the commander-in-chief was not in Command. How was it then that WJC could attack Serbia unilaterally, and without congressional authority?

If Bill Clinton had as many a$$holes as he does excuses, he wouldn't be so full of $hit.

Does anyone know of a compilation of quotes from right-wingers, or left-wingers for that matter, criticizing Clinton for taking *any* action against Bin Laden? I can't stand the SOB, but if he'd (properly) gone after bin Laden, I would have been cheering, not jeering.

That should be a woman's hand in that cartoon. And another cartoon with a man's hand voting for Ross Perot.

One question, when someone says klintoon, what is the first thing that "comes" to your mind? Some Republicans are so pathetically immature that they remain suckers-for-tarbabies; they got ambushed and STAY ambushed by the Clinton sex-and-perjury scandal (which totally diverted their attention away from the FAR more serious Clinton treason and Constitution-crippling outrages). We also saw, as just one of numerous minor examples, how they forgot about the out-and-out slanderous anti-Bush commercial during the 2004 SuperBowl halftime show because they got so obsessed about the titillating Janet Jackson episode instead (which Viacom no doubt deliberately and successfully staged to divert attention from its reneging on its "no advocacy ads" promise).
"If Bill Clinton had been a virgin, he would still have been the most immoral president in this country's history. In exchange for illegal campaign contributions from the government of China, he allowed the Chinese to buy American technology, which now makes them capable of hitting American cities with nuclear missiles." -- Dr. Thomas Sowell, HERE |
"The Clinton administration's legacy may be that it restarted the Cold War just to perpetuate itself in office. [Thanks to Clinton] the Chinese now have everything they need [in nuclear weaponry and missile guidance technology] to make the world an unsafer place." -- Cal Thomas |
