One can question as to "why" President Clinton blew up with rage; however, remember that emotions have purposes and the purpose of an emotion is often more important than the triggering cause.

President Clinton felt blind sided by the question of Osama. To get himself back in control was the purpose of the rage. He is used to the MSM not asking him hard questions or asking him in a way easily dismissed. Now, he is no longer POTUS he faces questions no one would have ever dreamed of asking in the past.

Anger is the steam in your engine getting you to the place you want to be.

My estimate of Chris Wallace went way up. He is a consummate professional and a genuine thoughtful and sensitive person to boot.

Yeah, Chris obviously hit a weak spot with that question about OBL. I hope the Republicans will come out & keep that kind of heat & pressure going until the election - keep 'em pinned to the floor!

Of course, as usual, the Republicans probably won't take advantage of any opportunity that happens to fall into their laps.

Remember the question by, I think it was Wolf Blitzer, back when the dim talking points were that the Republicans were cutting funds for the poor. What actually happens in these situations is that funds are not actually cut, just a reduction in the increase, but anyway, the dims were calling them cuts and Wolf Blitzer asked Clinton if he was prepared to stop calling them cuts and Clinton went off on him and blamed the media. His exact words were "Are you? Are you prepared to stop calling them cuts?" So he acted like he got the "cuts" talking points from the media. On second thought I guess thats not so far fetched. But anyway he was really mad at Blitzer for asking the question.

"One can question as to "why" President Clinton blew up with rage;"

IMHO - Very basic. He's human. He sat there on 9/11 and watched thousands of people die and huge buildings fall and HE KNEW HIS PERSONAL FAILURES were the major factor in failing to prevent it. Put yourself in his place. He can use his personality and his political party to partially mask or avoid the blame that rightfully is his. But HE KNOWS. It is very painful to him, and he is attempting to unload, or share, or minimize, or displace the source of that pain.

"My estimate of Chris Wallace went way up. He is a consummate professional and a genuine thoughtful and sensitive person to boot. " Ironically, Chris Wallace was highly critical of The Path to 9/11. (Maybe that is why Clinton's staff assumed an interview with Wallace would be 'safe'.) What they can't seem to understand is that you can be critical of fictionalized dialogue while still understanding the basic facts, as outlined in the 9/11 report, to be true. I only wish Wallace had the time to ask Clinton about Sandy Burglar.......
