There's a holiness to the sounds of shofar which can be denied only by those contemptuous of Judaism. It seems Israel has a government filled with Israelis but not with Jews. That is why they could desecrate a prayer service. A people with that attitude will not long survive in the Land God gave them since they do not acknowledge Hashem as their one and only true King Of Israel.
