If the people who want to protect the borders of our country
are "neanderthals" does that make the people who want the illegals in our country "Aryans."
Ted Kennedy described President Bush's court nominees as "neanderthals" several years ago and I wondered if he would have preferred "Aryan" nominees then.
Liberals think they are members of a superior race when they use the "neanderthal" expression and should be called on it.

The same dynamic applies in most other close Senate races. The public has long supported better immigration enforcement, but Washington has disdained and ignored it. Washington partakes of elite attitudes on immigration (Tancredo used to get sneered at even by fellow Republicans when he talked about a fence), and its strongest lobbies on both the right and left love a robust inflow of cheap, illegal labor. The high-profile debate on immigration, however, coupled with an election, has forced the Beltway to give public opinion its due.
It has taken years to break through the noise filter that surrounds Washington and prevents elected politicians from hearing their constituents. Politics aside, there is NO excuse for the Washington political elites to ignore the voices of those they are supposed to represent. This is part and parcel of the battle to take back our government from a group that considers itself above the law and to be the absolute rulers over all of us.
Once, we sent King George a message and fought for our freedom. If Washington politicians refuse to listen, we may have to send the despots on the Hill the same message. This is a government of, by and for the PEOPLE - NOT the political elites!!!

"But a fence itself isnt sufficient. The key is stepped-up interior enforcement to cut off the jobs magnet that draws so many illegals here."
Do you think they are getting it in Washington now?

harsh treatment of illegalsIn the world of P.C., preventing illegal entry into our country is considered "harsh treatment". Making them stay home is "harsh treatment".

Washington partakes of elite attitudes on immigration (Tancredo used to get sneered at even by fellow Republicans when he talked about a fence), and its strongest lobbies on both the right and left love a robust inflow of cheap, illegal labor. I think the real reason that Washington doesn't really want to tackle immigration reform is that they like to focus on things that can't really be measured for success or failure. They'd much rather pour billions into programs that can't be proven ineffective than into a simple fence that either will work or it won't.
Shalom.

I don't think wanting to control the borders of your country against a massive illegal invasion makes you a "neanderthal".
The Neandertal Enigma
by James Shreeve
Frayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]
