It starts with someone-Qutb who was eventually executed by the Nasser government, even though he was offered clemency. He wanted to be a martyr. His writings then infleunced Zawahiri and that's where I am. Qutb spent a summer in Greeley, Colorado in the late fourties and per his writings, thought our society too permissive even back then!

The US tolerates a lot. From the Oneida sex cult to the Shakers, and every thing in between.

Too bad he just couldn't have accepted that.
