A little disjointed but good
Bad scene right?
The Taliban agreed with the Pakistani goverment that they would not interfer with the rest of Pakistan as long as the Pakistan Army stayed out of the area in the hands of the Taliban. The Pakistani government in effect turned the defense of this area over to the Taliban.
That allowed a couple of things to happen. The Taliban no longer needed to keep troops behind in case the Pakistani army came calling. That allowed the Taliban to put in a lot more forces to attack NATO.
On the other hand it leaves the Taliban with no safe haven. We shall soon see the Taliban getting its butt kicked all over the Taliban area of Pakistan. It also means that Osama has no safe place to hide.
I doubt seriosly if the little man from Iran wants a competitor for the spotlight.
I am sure they felt that if they did not have to protect their home bsse they had enough troops to do those NATO forces in. They don't. Kiss the Taliban and Osama good bye.
Yes, it is a good article. Karzai knows his country, that's for sure.
