CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico - Mexican President Vicente Fox said Friday that violence was a problem on both sides of the border and that U.S. officials need to work on their own rising crime rates.
U.S. officials have criticized the high murder and kidnapping rates in Mexican border cities and the danger they pose to Americans. The U.S. ambassador recently advised U.S. citizens to exercise extreme caution when traveling in Mexico.

It takes real balls for Mexico to ship 20,000,000 of its poorest and uneducated to the US, watch its own crime rate soar, and the criticize the US for a higher crime rate. Vincente Fox should be sentenced to perpetual waterboarding.

I think I read 50% of violent prisoners in California jails are Mexican.

I don't know if it is as high as 50%. But illegals do represent a higher percentage of the criminals in California than their percentage in the general population.

We can make a significant dent in our violent crime rate -- including gang related violence! -- if we sent those 20,000,000 INVADERS back to their home countries; built a fence across the southern border, and then shot (to kill)anyone who tried to cross it illegally.
A nation that does not safeguard its borders is not a nation for long.

Why wouldn't he say this? It's not like the U.S. criticizes or expects anything from him. He's the one calling the shots.

Yes, Presidente Fox, we are going to reduce our crime problem by shipping it back to you.

Unbelievable.
And just who are the fine citizens who have elected the politicians who have brought this plague upon this once law abiding land?
We?
Unbelievable.
To: JingoJim
I see it as a slap in the face given that an ever increasing amount of our crime is caused by his citizens.

"He's the one calling the shots."
The sad thing is that on the immigration issue we are his lapdogs.

If only the administration would do that. In reality they'd prefer amnesty and open borders and as much cheap mexican labor as flows north.

On what issues are we not?

One thing you have to remember about this immigration is that it is different from immigrations of the 19th and 20th centuries in a number of ways - the primary being that all the people in the current immigrations are from the underclass and Mexico wants us to take care of their support.
While many, if not most, in previous immigrations were poor, some were skilled tradesmen, tailors and even some professional people who came to the U.S. for a number of reasons (including religious discrimination).

One thing you yourself might want to remember, BW222, is that the Mexican migration is not an immigration but an invasion.
The immigrations of the 19th and early 20th Centuries were legally sanctioned and turned out well for us all.
Why are you comparing grits with cream of wheat?
In other words...Legal vs. Illegal -- the fundament of all law.
To: the final gentleman
I don't disagree. What I attempted to imply is that Mexico is encouraging its poor, uneducated and criminal element to cross the border. those coming are not doctors, scientists or skilled tradesmen.

Agreed.
George W. Bush with the big heart probably wouldn't have let them in if they weren't poor enough to better themselves by picking cotton and building houses. But so what?
No one would even care if their entry was legal and screened to keep out terrorists and drug smugglers and persons with communicable diseases.
Just what the heck was George W. Bush thinking?
