Well....My husband must be the exception.
He's not only a rocket scientist....
..he's smart enough to figure out anything he needs to know....
..and that includes mechanics with the cars, or with any appliance in our home.-
--And common sense....he has tons!!
He is one of the smartest men I know, but he would be embarrassed I wrote this, as he's also humble and doesn't call attention to himself.
I balance us by being the more relational one....

People who blabber about how smart they are usually are so impressed with themselves they are overconfident and their answers are so colored by the egocentric viewpoint they often make the biggest mistakes
Something like a simple problem - X amount of Foam traveling at X feet per second WILL punch a hole in the wing of the space shuttle. Something that a less smart person who is a little paranoid would have checked. The effective IQ on that one probably was about 80
