In order to be effective, deterrence requires warning. We need to let the Muslim world know that we are going to hold them COLLECTIVELY responsible for any "American Hiroshima"--both those who did the deed and those whose tacit sympathy and support allowed the actual perpetrators to shelter in their midst.

Bush needs to give a speech articulating the "Bush doctrine." "In the event of a nuclear attack by Muslim terrorists on American soil, we will immediately retaliate by vaporizing . . . " naming about 5-10 of the largest/ most significant Muslim cities--Mecca, Medina, Tehran, Qom, etc.

Give them a real incentive to stop Al Qaeda.

The Israelis should do this exact same thing.

Frankly, I think the world would be a much safer place today if we had nuked Mecca the morning of 9/11. Islam would have largely collapsed as an organized religion by now, and we wouldn't be dealing with all this bullshit.

I agree with Victor Hanson that you must ,BEFORE HAND, warn the sponsors of terror that THEY will be held accountable if anything happens. Be specific and talk in terms of total devestation . The leaders dont want to die , they send the unwashed idiots to die. Fro example , tell Iran if another 9/11 happens they will be one on the list of backers , regardless of what they claim . Then it's on them to reel in the maniacs of terror or die .It's the only way to go .
