A Campaign in Crisis Mode (Bachman vs. Wetterling in Minnesota's Sixth District

WHILE my assignment was to write about Minnesota’s important Senate race, I think there’s more to be learned right now from the far closer contest in Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District, which borders Minneapolis-St. Paul to the east, north and west. The race, between Michele Bachmann, the Republican, and Patty Wetterling, the Democrat, has revealed a Bush-era national trend now visible locally.

That is, we are facing a choice between a “conservative” who wants to institute radical reforms and a “progressive” who wishes largely to maintain the status quo. In Minnesota’s Sixth District, liberalism is the new conservatism.

No wonder the NYT's stock is consistently selling below its 200 day moving average. Besides a declining circulation the NYT has hired illiterate, embiciles to cover political races.

This article is so flawed everyone can have at it and still not end after a 100 posts. At the very least, it is hard to imagine anyone East of the Appalachians referring to Wetterling as a "conservative."

Somewhat predictably, she draws her support largely from evangelicals. The centrist Republicans I know — those few who are still around — tend to regard her as superficial.

YAWN! ...sniffle....sniffle.... YAWN! ...sniffle...chirp...chirp...

Your pen is moving but all we hear in BLAH, BLAH BLAH...

Me'z think that this article is a template at the NYSLIMES and turd-reporter her just has to fill it in like a MAD-LIBS game...funny, I wondered why the game was called that...now I know.

I love the objectivity of the NYT/sarc.

I don't necessarily agree that this has anything to do with the Bush-era. Personally, I am sick of "compassionate conservatism," which means being a conservative and loyal to your base when it suits your purposes.
