O’Reilly Factor: “Coerced Interrogations”
Mens News Daily ^ | September 22, 2006 | Karl Lembke

On Fox News, Bill O’Reilly interviewed(video included) Brian Ross on the subject of “coercive interrogation” techniques.

I couldn’t find a transcript online, so here’s one I put together, just for my own reference. Maybe you’ll find it useful, too.

This is a very interesting exchange. Naturally, the lib press would have you believe that interrogations don't work. Heck, they're trying to draw a parallel between interrogations and torture.

None of this is torture, and all of it works.

Interrogation works. The CIA is 100% sure.

Brian Ross is no fan of the Bush Administration. If he reported positive results, it pulls the rug out from under Kerry, etc.

Thanks for posting this. From a liberal newscaster at that. Of course waterboarding works, and it's a mind game, not physical torture.

"waterboarding works, and it's a mind game, not physical torture."

From the article:

O: Can this hurt you if they continue to do it? Can it kill you? Waterboarding?

R: IF they continued it it could, but essentially it creates a gag reflex where you think you are about to die — you think you’re drowning — you’re not.

Just between you and me, anything that can kill me, and is in the control or discretion of someone that would just as soon see me dead, is not a mind game, it is torture..
That is to say, the immeadiate threat of death is torture, if only psychological ...

That being said, I have no problem whatsoever with torture if it gets the information we need..

The enemy is beheading our soldiers, setting them on fire, dragging them through the streets, hanging them from bridges, and "Frankly, my dear, I don't Give A DA*N" at this point about the Geneva Conventions..
It doesn't seem to me that anyone is abiding by the Geneva Conventions except the U.S. and their allies..

So I say, bring out "Grey's Anatomy", a scalpel, and a pair of battery cables..
Torture was good enough for the last 50,000 years, it's good enough for now..

Exactly! The detainees at Gitmo are thankful they are in Cuba under US custody rather than being in a Muslim country under the same circumstances.

O'Reilly is hardly a liberal on most issues. He's conservative about 90% of the time. O'Reilly has has done more to battle "secular progressives" and the ACLU than almost anyone in America.

He criticizes the oil companies for "price gouging" and the fiscal conservatives on FR have a cow.

O'Reilly can be a pompous bore, but he's no liberal.

This is a thread about the detainees who were left at Abu Gharib after the Americans left. They are heard screaming and begging for the Americans to come back, BTW the ICRC has stopped visiting that location due to "security issues" ha!

I have a feeling that regardless what the outcome of this absurd "tourture" debate is , certain prisoners will be "taking care of" in order to get information. There will be a public face in this all but behind VERY closed doors Im sure CIA will do what is necessary to get vital info. at least I hope this is the case.

Ross (on "waterboarding"): "20-30 seconds is the most most people can take of this technique, it’s that harsh."

Translation: 20-30 seconds is the most most people can take of this technique, it’s that effective.
