"Of course that would only feed into Clintoon's paranoia that the folks at Fox are members of the VRWC."

Exactly what I was thinking!

SO! Old Bill admits he, as President of the USA, authorized killing someone? As in assassination? Gee, I thought that was illegal!!!

He specifically said he "had a finding," which is executive order speak for a Presidential decree that what they were doing is legal under the existing executive order.  The thing is, the White House is required by law to report such findings to the respective Intelligence committees and that's something we can get checked.  If he didn't inform the committees he either broke the law or he's lying now.  That's why I've sent emails to my congress lady and my two senators asking them to check this specific issue.

I took the wag-the-dog comment at face value simply because I did not remember what was said at the time. But, look at what was really being said according to the NYT:

Congressional leaders were briefed about the planned raid Wednesday night and Thursday morning. For the most part, Republican leaders praised Clinton's decision and urged more aggressive action against terrorism.

House Speaker Newt Gingrich expressed firm support, and Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, said, "Our response appears to be appropriate and just."

Others were more critical. Accusing Clinton of "lies and deceit and manipulations and deceptions," Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., said the president's record "raises into doubt everything he does and everything he says, and maybe even everything he doesn't do and doesn't say."

Administration officials dismissed such skepticism. Cohen said: "The only motivation driving this action Thursday was our absolute obligation to protect the American people from terrorist activities. That is the sole motivation. No other consideration has been involved."

I have about the same attitude for Allen as I do for Frist..nice guy but not what this nation needs.

Leading to the next question - who replaces Senator Frist as the Majority Leader? (Or Minority Leader?)

If he didn't inform the committees he either broke the law or he's lying now.

Okay, IMHO he did both.  I think he's lying now and he still broke the law.   Maybe I'm wrong but my memory says we have specific laws on the books making this illegal.  Courtesy of the Democrats years ago when they were upset over our authorizing this very kind of action.

I'll wait to see if there's any fallout over it because I can't do much research on it these days, but I'm sure someone will get the specifics.

"...Remember how smart and savvy and what a great communicator Clinton was supposed to be?..."

Interesting comments. The Left positioned Clinton as their Reagan. President Reagan did speak well off the cuff under pressure from a thoroughly hostile MSM, unlike Clinton who, when asked a non-fawning question becomes hostile.

This is why Clintonistas wooed the MSM with parties and a coequal interest in a socialist agenda. Their shared agenda worked well and at the expense of the nation's security.

Both Clintons remain insulated with the MSM they seduced with in-crowd cocktail parties and influence. Thus an unexpected question posed by Chris Wallace unhinged him.

On another note: I think the impetus behind the Clinton global initiative is to purchase him the UN Secretary General's seat. This global initiative is a slush fund to offer every tin-pot dictator funding help [read bribes] in exchange for a vote to change the rules so that a member state sitting on the Security council can be Secretary General.

This helps explain stalling on Secretary Bolton's nomination.
