Aznar, 'Muslims have never apologised for Spanish invasion'

José María Aznar has said that while he has heard Pope Benedict XVI being asked to apologise for a speech about the Islamic faith he made in Germany last weekend, he has not heard "any Muslims apologising to me for conquering Spain and staying for eight centuries."

The former president of the Spanish government was answering a question at the Hudson Institute in Washington, where he had earlier made a speech during which he said that international terrorism "threatens us all wherever we may be. We are at war. This is a war, and, to fight it, it is indispensable that we believe that we shall win, but, if you don't believe in anything, you can't fight against anything. The leaders of the western world don't believe."

The former PP leader also said that "Islamic fundamentalism must be confronted because there's no other option," and that the world is "under a constant attack against which it must defend itself. The West did not attack Islam, they attacked us."

He concluded his address by criticising "the lack of leadership in Europe," and "divisions" between European countries.

I thought the same thing. That's no Spanish name.

... if Satan wanted his own religion, Islam is ...

He does, and it is. It's the same old canaanite moon-god child-sacrificing cult that the Hebrews were told to exterminate.

Every mosque across the middle east has a crescent on top. Ask a mohammedan why some day, if you dare. If he's knowledgable and honest (I know, I'm talking about muslims; bear with me) he'll dodge and evade and maybe eventually tell you they shouldn't be there. If he's the more typical, ignorant lying muslim, he'll cut off your head for asking.

So when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters, wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush…. (Koran 9:5) The only punishment of those that wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is that they should be murdered, or crucified, or their hands and their feet should be cut-off on opposite sides, or they should be imprisoned…. (Koran 5:33)

the key word there is Aznar, the FORMER President. Wonder what would happen if the Muzzies went after him, dis-elected or not....but he's probably smart enough not to rile them up again. Still....intriguing scenario to see how Spaniards would react if someone there did a Theo van Gogh on Aznar. Didn't seem the galvanize the Dutch that much, or a substantial %age of their Muslims would've already been deported.

I do believe Aznar is a not uncommon Spanish name, possibly Basque. He looks Spanish too.

I was not surprised once I finally read the whole post, that Aznar did not speak those words in Spain, but in the US. I wonder if he is going back.

How the Spaniards did not reelect this guy is beyond me.

I guess that a majority don't mind changing the name of the country back to Al Andalus.

GOOD FOR ANZAR!!

Perhaps there is hope for Spain and the spirit of El Cid still lives there.
