Stronach was never a Conservative. When she jumped ship, she figured she'd inherit then Prime Minister Paul Martin's mantle one day. Oops! It turned to be the miscaculation of the century.

Stronach has made herself a complete buffoon, a "look at me I'm a petulant rich little poor kid" routine to such an extreme even Al Gore can't help but be envious of her complete lack of any grounded internalized social principle.

Stronach's Parliamentary home page has a bit of personal & political info including a map of her Riding (electoral district).

"Newmarket-Aurora" is immediately North of the Liberal bastion of Toronto but most ones that far geographically removed (15-20 miles) are Conservative like most of Ontario's non-urban hinterland.

Accordingly, her initial winning of the Riding as a Conservative is likely more representative of the area's true political leanings. Her (somewhat surprising) re-election as a Liberal earlier this year can probably be attributed to name recognition, a not particularly strong Conservative challenger & her billionaire father Frank's Magna Corporation being by far the largest employer in the region.

BTW, the "Hon" or "Honourable" on her home page is a life-long designation resulting from her having been briefly a Cabinet Minister (Privy Councilor) in the former Martin government.

Speaking of government funding for women's groups such as REAL Women Canada which are pro-life, Stronach said, "They should be rejected because they're anti-choice and they're also anti-equal rights. They don't support equality."

The most amazing thing about these Liberals is that they claim they are tolerant. Tolerance means allowing others to be heard, even if you disagree with them.
