I take it you are alright...which is good.
I DID walk to school in the snow, I'll have you know...but it wasn't 20 miles..and I had a pair of shoes...but no BOOTS!..my ankles were always frozen by the time I got there.
allowed to wear pants under our dresses but we had to take them off when we got to school.
I also have the cure for half the adhd too. We had a huge playground, much longer than a football feild and about 4 blocks wide. We got to school every day about half hour early and played. Had swings, slides, jungle gyms, teeter totters. Had baseball feild, football, jump rope. (real slides too!! -- not short little plastic things). By the time school started we "blew the stink off" as my mother used to say. Not much tardiness either.
When I was doing student teaching in college in 70's teachers decided they couldn't bother to do the playground duty. Kids weren't even allowed on the playground before school. About half hour after school started kids were bouncing off the walls --- they woke up!! If schools would actually let them play before school they would use up all that energy.
