It gets adjusted by location, of course, as well as location.

My home is one mile from the platform at the DC Metro system's Springfield station.

If oil goes up, I win.

If urban sprawl occurs, I win.

If the population grows, I win.

If Americans achieve growth in wealth, I win.

Location, when you get right down to it, really, really helps when it comes to real estate.

Unless you're trying to buy for the first time. Then it's damn-near impossible.

Not here in Ohio, but in many places. My well-above-average income couldn't buy a starter home in these locales unless I wanted to give up niceties like food, heating, water, and clothing.
