David Kendall was a member of the
Sphinx Club at Wabash College which would assemble the freshmen to sing the school song under the kind of intimidating, screaming harrassment now deemed torture by the fifth column from Durban to McCain. The Sphinx Club (remember, David Kendall was a member) would shave the heads of those freshman who failed to sing the school song to the upperclassmen's satisfaction
leaving a large "W" of hair in the center.
I was a frosh there when Kendall was a senior; when I was a senior and a rep from my fraternity to the senior council, I engineered the vote to ban the W haircut on a night when the Sphinx Club members were at the Green Street Bar.
Hence, today, the school uses red spray paint.
I ask you--what was done at abu Ghraib which rises to the outrage of what David Kendall and the Sphinx Club did at Wabash College until the late 'Sixties?
Abu Ghraib was "torture"?
Where then is the Kendallian mea culpa a la the John F. Kerry 1971 confession of Jen-Jiss Con "atrocities"?
