It's worse than that -- He has to live his life knowing that he didn't even try. No amount of self-delusion will erase that.
He doesn't allow himself to accept reality. He coats himself in a cushioned lie.
I just wish he would be forced to choke down every FreeRepublic post about him and his legacy.
