Oddly enough my daughter also dreamed of a tornado last night, her mother woke her up for school as it was about to get her.

I see they took the DFW area out of the tornado watch, leaving only the red river counties to the NE.

All clear in my hood.

*Twilight Zone music cued here*

I either don't dream very often, or I just don't remember them, and this was so vivid, that is was unusual for me.

Especially since last week, I napped for just two hours till about 7 PM and woke up with a start, thinking that Gov. Ann Richards had died. Kind of argued with myself that she hadn't - not really caring one way or the other - and then went about fixing dinner.

I had only thought about her once in at least 10 years and that was when I read that she had cancer back in March.

Sure enough, I came to FR and there was a thread someone started about Ann Richards' having died that evening - and about that same time, the TV ran a crawl below the show that was on, saying that Richards had died.

I think that's why the funnel cloud dream kind of jolted me tonight. I hadn't heard anything about tornadoes or any watches or warnings recently. We're not supposed to get the front y'all are having until Sat night or Sun morning.

Can't wait till it gets a little cooler, even if it's just at night. Our low tonight will be 78° - ugh!

Just checking this thread out. Been keeping up with the Northern Arkansas/Southern Missouri outbreak tonight. Anyway, I dreamed of tornadoes early Friday morning as well. In my dream, I looked out my window and saw a tornado develop not far from my view. It then began to move away from us towards the east and I told my wife that we were in the clear. I then looked at the radar at Northeast Arkansas/Southeast Missouri and saw that our families were in the direct line of several tornadoes much like the April 2 outbreak.

Tonight, without any warning from the NWS, the meteorologist noted that spotters were seeing rotation occurring over our city in Washington County, AR. Playing it safe (or stupid), we jumped in the car and drove up the road to our safe place (underground basement). We were there only a short while and we could tell the storm was moving off to the east. On the way home, I looked through the side window and saw intense lightning activity toward my east over Madison County and then what appeared to be a funnel cloud.

Sure enough, when I fired up the radar, there was a tornado warning issued for Madison County. But even more freaky is that when I pulled up the radar for Southeast Missouri, there was line after line of tornadic super cells all tracking east and pretty much following the April 2nd route. I spent pretty much the entire night monitoring the weather and contacting friends and family keeping them informed.

At last count, 40 tornadoes touched down today, a record outbreak for the month of September.
