Charles Rangel isn't a stupid man. In fact he's quite intelligent. But he's also a mean, vindictive, race-bating, self serving, partisan sob, which far outweighs any positive qualities he may have.

You say that like it is a bad thing. If he were all of that, and a conservative, I would vote for him for president. As a matter of fact, one of the things I look for in a candidate, is being a mean SOB.
