Wakim Goes Up By a Touchdown on Debate Scorecard: Wakim 7, Mollohan 0

From U.S. Rep. Candidate Chris Wakim Release

Wheeling, WV (HNN) –Over the last week, Chris Wakim accepted three more proposals for debates from organizations around the state, bringing the total number of proposals he has accepted up to seven.

Chris Wakim has formally accepted proposals from WELD for a radio debate in Grant County, The Dominion Post for a debate in Morgantown, Hopeful House for a debate in Wheeling, The Steve Novotney Show for a live radio debate in Wheeling on WWVA 1170, from WTAP in Parkersburg, from West Virginia Media for a debate in Clarksburg, and from the League of Women Voters for a debate in Charleston to be televised on West Virginia Public Broadcasting.

As of Wednesday, Sep. 20, 2006, Alan Mollohan has not responded to any of these debate proposals.

Said Wakim, “It certainly doesn’t surprise me that Alan Mollohan is reluctant to defend his record in public. He has consistently voted to thwart the efforts of the men and women on the front lines of the war on terror, he has repeatedly put the rights of convicted sexual offenders ahead of the safety of our children, and he has used his office to become a millionaire in an absurdly short period of time. Alan Mollohan has done nothing during this campaign but launch personal attacks against me and my family and he knows very well that his attacks will not hold water in front of an audience. Whenever Alan Mollohan summons the courage to stand up next to me and tell the voters with a straight face why they ought to return him to office, I will be ready and waiting.”

The Charleston Daily Mail has also wrote a pretty scathing about Moolohan for voting to keep earmarks secret.

Mollohan voted against openness
