I've been taking vitamins since I was a teen and now I swear by using waterless hand sanitizers to prevent colds. I have one in my car, one in my pocket and one at home. So far, I've been cold free.

Now what's the story about taking echinacea all the time. I've read in some places that you should take it for 10 days then stop for a few, then start the cycle again.

Yes, I only take it when I have symptoms or when I'm working / living around other people who have bad colds.

I don't know if it is true that you really SHOULDN'T take it constantly; But given my results of only taking it when necessary, no point in wasting the money to take it regularly.

I'm pretty sure that's because it can stress your liver. So you have to give it a rest.
