Don't forget Waylon Jennings. I know he was born and raised in Post (just down the road apiece, 'tother side of Slaton, for those of you unfamiliar with the High Plains). But Waylon had to come to Lubbock to play...
Lubbock has also produced Joe Ely, Buth Hancock, and Jimmy Dale Gilmore. What amazes me about "artists" that crap in their nests is the fact that the entertainment world is full of very talented people where fame is as much a matter of luck and breaks than anything else. I heard an yet unhearled group, The Lovell Sisters, last Saturday night whose performance (and original music) blows the Chicks away. Don't the Ditzy Chicks realize that talent much better than their own is hungry..and right on their arses?
Very familiar with Post, Texas.
The domestic partner spent some happy years there, going to the Baptist church (where the cutest girls were)
