"He had the police arrest everyone for everything, and they were prosecuted and sent to jail too".

Damn right, he even had some innocent folks arrested just for daring to own a gun! Where did they think they were, America?

A very nice, first person report.

Thanks!

How could I forget?

Never forget that every politician is one or more of the following: a sociopath, a liar, a traitor, or a crook.

Now THAT is a stooopid remark to make to a kid who has shown such interest and enthusiasm in listening to a politician. You generalize and sling mud like a liberal

I'd hate to see either of them get the nomination.

his press conferences were "energetic".

but the tone was different, especially in the first term, because you have to remember that these media people at the pressers - live in NYC. and they saw what was happening to the City, with 2000 murders a year. so there was a "cut him some slack" tone, because he was saving their as*es from being knifed on the way to work,

Jeff Sessions is a Reagan Republican who would never run with Rudy. Not now, not ever!

He was speaking to the Philadelphia World Affairs Council...we have a nice auditorium so they use it to do lectures if they want to do them in the burbs. Works out well for me...I got a free ticket! (and I had to lobby the social studies department pretty hard for it, too)

who? those were all ILLEGAL gun owners, young punks carrying guns under their baggy shirts all over the City. he had the police implement "stop and frisk" actions - you're on the street, you're stopped and frisked. are you in favor of profiling, well this was the most effective implementation of it in modern history. after a while, when the thugs realized there was some risk that they would be stopped and found with guns - they stopped carrying them. this action alone was responsible for most of the decreases in murders.

legal gun ownership in NYC has aways been difficult, Rudy didn't do anything to change that either way.

The kid listens to Rudy, reports what she hears, expresses feelings, and most of you turn this into a bash Rudy thread.

Why?

Don't you think a little encouragement is in order here?

Eh. Many of my generation take interest in politics...but the vast majority of them are on the wrong side...but hey, it makes for exciting in-class discussions!

Being anti-gun and pro-abortion breaks the votability meter for me but if it could be worse i.e., any Dem, then he be cool with the strong presence of pro-lifers and Second Amendment folk of which I am proudly one.

After much speculation, I have decided that Rudy is a LEADER. I may not like his politics as well as another; however, in times of war, that matters little.

Rudy can make the hard decisions and take the heat. Precious few others will.

Very good report on the speech. I wish I could have been there. I'm a social and fiscal conservative but if he gets the nomination, I'll vote for him.

He's a law-and-order liberal. If he could get over his anti-gun stance I might consider supporting him.

He does seem well vetted for the press, terrorism, war/crime, ect.

I wonder what kind of cabinet appts he would make, and his philosophy on judges.

Is he a tax cutter? Would he avoid any socialized medicine, and keep the UN from making foreign policy decisions for the US?

Those are my first questions to him.

Hah thanks...it's alright though...I pretty much endorsed the guy...if people want to disagree with me, more power to them! Love him or hate him, you can't deny that the guy has balls and he would stop at nothing to defend this country. To me, at this point in time, that is the most important thing.
