My sentiments exactly. Why would he choose such a shallow, smart alecky remark to distance himself? Sounds like a shallow jerk to me.

Well, I guess he's appealing to the shallow jerk constituency. In that I thought the joke was kinda cute and even a bit funny, I guess I'm part of that constituency.
I promise you, it is large enough to elect Sen. Allen to the presidency.
