The first clue was his taking Cindy Seahag seriously.
Those whose candidates don't win the primaries need to get over it. Allen was my early favorite but now it seems clear to me that Guiliani will beat all comers.
THE QUESTION WAS NOT "IS YOUR GRANDFATHER JEWISH".
The question was, why won't you ADMIT that your MOTHER is jewish, and when did your family decide not to be jewish anymore.
IT's like being asked "when did you stop beating your wife".
His answer was perfect. If she had asked, was your grandfather who was imprisoned by the germans jewish? maybe he would have answered the question.
But as he explains in an article today, the way Fox worded the question, she was suggesting that his mother was a jew and therefore would have been expected to hate blacks and taught him racial slurs.
So he saw her attacking jews as being racists, and falsely accusing his mother of being a racist because she was a jew.
That might not have been the point of the question, but the full question certainly linked racial slurs, his mother, and her "jewishness". You have to go listen to her entire question while thinking about that, but when you do you'll see how it can be seen that way.
I was wondering what happened to him...
You have no idea of the number of people who will never vote for Rudy.
They love him yes, but vote for him? They will not.
Ugh, he took Cindy seriously. Gag! It had to be very early in her "coming out" party. As for Rudy, I think he'd do well. Does he have a potential first lady? You can bet the Dems will try and exploit his personal life.
I can't see anyone beating Guiliani for the nomination and firmly believe he would crush any Democrat.
Jeb can't run because of the "dynasty" charges. Halley Barbor would be good but he doesn't have the national following. McCain is in the middle of going insane and is widely hated personally here. Pence, Tancredo couldn't even win one primary. Condi has no elective history and would not win because of that alone.
Instead they'll vote for Hillary, Kerry, Obama, Gore, Edwards? Or will they vote for Buchannan or stay hoome and cry in their beer?
I'm talking primary.
That does come first, doesn't it?
I hear all the blustering around here. But these are the voices of a tiny minority. In some ways Rudy would be perfect as Commander-in-Chief because of his experience in bringing down the Mob in NYC. It is little more than a domestic terrorist organization and, as such, very similiar to the Islamo-fascist terror movement.
All the criticism of Guiliani uses pre 911 actions, statements for its basis. I believe 911 changed him as it did most other patriots and those ideas will not have that much impart now.
I commend Allen for not pandering to any faction in our society like Dems do on a daily basis. I also don't consider him trying to distance himself by making the ham sandwich remark. Remember that there is an R after Allen's name and a large number of Jewish people just do not vote for Repubs.
Yes, Nathan Lane. LoL.
I'd send him back, but he's too big for an email attachment and I'll never get him in a zip file.
Of course. Just think of all the Jewish presidents we have had.
Which states do you expect Rudy to have trouble with - the South, I expect? But who would he lose to?
No, for the bazillionth time (and justshutupandtakeit knows this) that's NOT the case there either.
In an interview with Wolf Blitzer, Allen as shown a video of an unidentified woman who said she lost her son and she wanted to meet the President. Allen said "I think the President should meet with her because everyone deserves to be heard." (that's a paraphrase).
Even Blitzer had to be reminded by the White House that Sheehan had already met the President.
When her true motives and antics came to light, Allen said that meeting with her would serve no purpose.
That's cause Kosher hotdogs are the best.
yummy...:)
Thanks for clearing that up.
Not sure.
I have hopes of some "undiscovered" governor out there somewhere.
LOL. I almost choked on my gum after reading that.
"I still had a ham sandwich for lunch. And my mother made great pork chops."
My sentiments exactly. Why would he choose such a shallow, smart alecky remark to distance himself? Sounds like a shallow jerk to me.
