How about just a ban on Islam and then no one would ever need to defame it..... /s

How about the muslims banning murder of infidels first?

This illustrates quite well the cultural divide which the Pope was addressing.
The West values rational discourse. Islam forbids it.

Musharraf is no longer an ally on the WOT.
He needs to be replaced.

I'm sick of hearing about Muslim sensibilities. They are just such a SENSITIVE group. Well I'm sensitive too. I'm offended at the beheadings, the flying of planes into buildings, the blowing up of civilians in dozens of countries. Let's talk about my sensibilities.
To: Alouette
Illegal worldwide to say anything bad about Islam.
To take effect immediately.
Welcome to Sharia everyone.

The problem is that there is no one else in Pakistan to replace him with other than one of Bin Laden's disciples. We're pretty much stuck with him.

"We also need to bridge, through dialogue and understanding, the growing divide between the Islamic and Western worlds," Let me see if I have this straight.
Phase 1: Grossly violate the freedom of speech that the West holds dear. Do so through the non-existant lawmaking powers of the UN.
Phase 2: In this new intellectual atmosphere where Islam cannot be criticized, THEN make the West understand Islam.
Phase 3: ???
Phase 4: Profit!

I think the UN is the Mos Eisley Catina.

I'm not sure he is not siding with the Islamofascists now.

I have a better idea. How about the Pope call a Code Red on the whole bunch and let's get this settled? Rally the troops on the plains of Megido.

Its a foregone conclusion that islam isn't compatible with civilization, but sooner or later, I think it's going to become clear that it cannot co-exist peacefully with any other culture.
At that point, I like the odds of the side with space age technology far more than the side that struggles to distinguish itself from other primates.

This is exactly what Daniel Pipes said would happen in an article that has been posted already. This is the first step toward dhimmitude in the West: laws forbidding any critique of Islam.
The remaining rules for non-believers will soon follow.
