One day the world will thank us

The European criticism expressed recently regarding our war on terror is either naïve or just plain stupid. Either way, it is dangerous. The enemy we face is brutal, intolerant, murderous and driven by an irrational ideology. The enemy will not stop attacking us if we swear by Merkel's maxim. The enemy will not respond to diplomacy, negotiations, or incentives. The enemy we fight today has one goal: To overpower and enslave us. Hiding our heads in the sand and mouthing platitudes about tolerance and respecting other cultures will not defeat this enemy.

America has a right and a duty to protect itself, its people, and its culture. If that takes a "neo-conservative" foreign policy, so be it, so long as that policy defeats America's enemies. If we have to do it alone, without European support, so be it. If that offends the rest of the world, so be it.

One day Europe and the rest of the civilized world will thank us. Until then, America hopefully will continue to do the right thing in this war against evil. What is good for America is good for the free world.

Psychologically, we must rephrase what we are doing. This is not a fight between "western culture" and "Moslem culture". It is a fight between "civilization" and "barbarism".

Civilization implies a social contract. People respecting other people's lives and actions, so long as they do interfere with your own. A government that provides for a common defense against foreign powers, and acts as a judge between citizen conflicts.

Barbarism has no such contract. Despite claims to order, it is rule by chaos. There is only "the law of whim", in which randomly violent acts are justified after the fact, if at all. Might makes right.

Civilization is superior to barbarism, and defeats it at every turn in a Darwinistic struggle. It does so because even primitives can see that it is the better way, and will generally choose it over barbarism. For this reason, the only way the barbarian can continue his reign of terror is to destroy civilization in its entirety.

This is why it is fruitless to bargain with the barbarian: they have only one goal, and it is non-negotiable. (Note, see this in the recent remarks of the President of Iran.)

Diplomacy: Civilization will be destroyed, then all will be well. Compromise is the destruction of civilization. Civilization is unfairly trying to destroy barbarism.

Negotiations: Barbarism will rule all and civilization will be destroyed. Civilization must surrender, all or in part, and accept the rule of barbarism. Barbarism will surrender nothing, ever. All must gradually or immediately come under the whim of barbaraism.

Incentives: Support barbarism and we will oppress you terribly, but we won't kill you. Do things our way, become our slaves, and allow us to purge civilization from your nation.
