I applaud Horowitz. He's making a difference and doing it faster than I imagined possible.

The widespread use of this book, Ehrenreich, Barbara. Nickel and Dimed, On (Not) Getting by in America, concerns me. Her undercover journalism is no substitute for systematic study.

From the misspellings in course description I note that affirmative action is still exalting the unqualified. When I went to work in the Social Science department of a black heritage university, the department chairman who had a PhD in sociology shouted out the question, "How do you figure a percentage?" He truly did not know. Working with him and others was a cross.
