Gov. Rick Perry knows that the greatest threat to our future is a porous and unsecured border. Instead of waiting for Washington to do its job, he ordered the most aggressive state-led border security initiative in America. Perry’s actions include:
Ordering the National Guard to provide border security support six months before the President requested it.
Providing millions of dollars to help border sheriffs increase patrols.
Authorizing the use of DPS state troopers, helicopters, SWAT teams, covert surveillance teams, canine units, game wardens and the Texas Civil Air Patrol to stop illegal activity on the border.
Posting hidden surveillance cameras that will broadcast via the Internet so that Texans can help secure our border.
Fighting for $100 million to fund these border security efforts until Washington meets its responsibility.
As a result of Perry’s leadership, Texas is shutting down criminal activity on the border and our families are safer. The most recent effort, Operation El Paso, reported a 40% to 70% reduction in crime in the four participating counties."

I frankly just don't like Perry. He's a tax and spend Republican.
