Hey, I'm not a pacifist. Christians may be directed to turn the cheek in personal matters, but I don't quite think that applies to us as nations.
I guess my point is that we should seek common cause - if at all possible - with the Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, Sikhs and atheists who are facing the same threat we are.

The Pope may have intentionally put himself in danger to expose Islam for the fascist system that it is. He could not make a public call for another "Crusade" to protect and revive Christianity world-wide.
But his personal sacrifice, should Muslims carry out their threats, would speak for him. Some will say he was asking for it, especially after being invited to become Muslim by Khadafi's son, an invitation the Pope must refuse (a capital offense in Islam).
But the martyrdom of a sitting Pope, may galvanize Christians of all denominations to fight against evil, which is consistent with the Prophesy of St. Malachy.
The final Pope, "Petrus Romanus", the 112th in St. Malachy's prophesy, would see the distruction of Rome and the Vatican.
So the War Against Islam begins...
