Welcome to the 2nd race of the Nextel Chase for the Cup 2006 race thread.
The Nextel Cup series and Craftsman Trucks will be at Dover and the Busch series will be racing in Las Vegas.
Prayers for the troops at Walter Reed and to All our service personnel and their families around the globe and for all those who served and sacrificed so much for the freedom and liberty we enjoy today.
Never Forget.
I bet your glad I finally learned how to post a picture on FR?
lol
Only took a few years.....
For the last two years a Red Flag exercise has been going on at the same time as the races in March - they move the dates around a bit from year to year.
The Busch race on Saturday is the poop. Red Flag usually does not fly on Sunday - but on Saturday they are going full speed.
Just amazing - watch Nascar...watch the jets...watch Nascar...watch the jets....front row seat for both.
And me ? - after a career in the USAF - I'm still watching the jets! :-)
It's really cool, though - you can watch the crowd: all heads looking up - all heads looking down....all eyes up...all eyes down.....
as one of those sports songs goes.....
"Welcome to the big show......"
I'm getting goose bumps typing this......it is great to see.
That's great! Great for our country and great for you and your family...
This would probably be a good a time as any to ask if you'd consider a drafting partner over the next seven races...
hey... you should see the nitrous emissions numbers...
er, nevermind.
Rock and Roll on Brother!!!
It's a first.
and likely a last :o0
Hey, I can cheer for ya with great ferver, I'm kicking your a$$
</humble>
Aha! That's why you got the high score, runnin' nitrous!
He's a Junior fan...but his dad in Brazil is a Gordon fan with me! We'r hoping to get him out of school on Friday for qualifying. His dad is so jealous of him.
We took our girl student last year, who was from Slovakia. She hated it and sat and complained. I tried to tell her to just pick a driver and cheer for him...I also told her there were literally thousands and thousands of Americans who would love to be where she was...but she wasn't buying it.
Check out this fight in an ARCA race. The guy jumps through the front windshield.......

Bobby Labonte to Assist KHI's #77 Busch Team: Kevin Harvick Inc. announced that Bobby Labonte will assume driving duties of the #77 Dollar General Stores Chevy at the remaining companion events for the 2006 season. KHI and Dollar General had high expectations for the #77 when the season started, said Kevin Harvick. Both Dollar General and KHI have been very patient throughout the season. This is a performance-based business and unfortunately we have not seen the level of improvement or the results we had hoped for. In an effort to evaluate the performance of the #77 team and get a jump start on the 2007 season, a change had to be made." Burney Lamar will be back in the #77 Dollar General Stores Chevy in the Sam's Town 250 at Memphis.(KHI PR)(9-26-2006)

If I am correct...I think that Jeff won the first two years at Kansas...but, not so much since then. I think this is the sixth year for the Kansas Speedway? It is really an amazing facility and has done incredible things for Wyandotte County, Kansas. It was a dying county that has be completely revitalized by the Speedway.
What an animal!
But his Kung-Fu is not stronger than the windshield!
He did go through the windshield, did the video show that?
Time to start figuring out Kansas picks.
