Nothing like a good stiff headwind when qualifying.
This sign? I think it is new.

I just don't understand WHY the car was great yesterday, great at the beginning of the race and then the handling went. . . . FOUR weeks in a row! Bristol, Richmond, New Hampshire, Dover. The car starts out great, he runs up front, then falls back and finishes.
What I find the most disheartening is listening to the team radio. Junior (Dale) and Jr. (Tony) can almost never agree what changes to make. And hardly ever is there any agreement about pit strategy. You would think if these guys really are so brilliant there would be some agreement!
Today Jr. pretty much went along with whatever Junior wanted to do. He sounded like he was just not going to argue this week.

I think it's time for Jr to visit the "boss" and lay down the law.........the equipment and setup is not right.....they should not have to be playing with the air pressure, track bar and whatnot every race.
The speed is a little better in qualifying, but they better get those engines ready. Kansas can be lethal on engines and accidents.
I've saved my last Jr pick in the league for Dega and it better be good!

At least Jr's day was not as bad as this....strangest thing I have ever watched in qualifying.
He (did not catch the #) spins coming out of turn 4...does not want the lap to count....
Boldly going where no Truck should.
Was not quick enough with camera to catch him doing it. He turns around and goes backwards...timing light not hit...qual lap does not count. I'll just go back to the other side of the timing light and get a good run at it. At least that is the plan.
New way to go down the back stretch.
The track announcer is saying, "Well, this is different!"
Almost there...
Now I'll turn around and try it again!
And Nascar said, no. Your qual is over.
Really strange to see to see 'em going the wrong direction.
I told the boy, "Hey, this looks like you on PlayStation Nascar!"

they should not have to be playing with the air pressure, track bar and whatnot every race. and that is all I have been watching DJ do for the last 3 years.
Very frustrating, no doubt. Especially when the car is decent in practice, then crap in qual. Then play with it all race long.
Oh yes, I know this drill. Unfortunately.
I really hope Jr gets 'em on the right page.

I've seen Cup guys do that, one being Herm that I can remember. As long as you don't take the green and don't cross that line you can turn around and go back and do over.

I wonder why?
Is LVMS the only one that has those billboards? I don't remember seeing them anywhere else.

They have always had the billboards along turns 1 and 2.
That is where they want to build two 10 story condo's.
They have to get permission from the city ($$ hand to hand, done deal) AND from Nellis AFB.
I really hope Nellis says no. Talk about screwing up a good view!

Yes, at first I was talking about the Nellis Straightaway.
But then I changed the subject to the billboards. LOL Sorry.
I found the billboards distracting last night while I was watching the truck race.

Will do...it's my husband's company suite so I spend most of the time making sure that clients are happy and food and beverage keep flowing...but, it is really awesome to be at such an event. It's just amazing the precision with which everything is done, from the time the teams arrive until they pull out.
This week we're bringing our 16 year old Brazilian exchage student. He is sooo excited...that will make it even more fun than usual!

I'm thinking about becoming your husbands #1 customer. What time will you meet me at the front gate?

Of course we always love pics from the track, so if you have a chance save a few for us.
Does your exchange student have a favorite driver yet?
I'm off to dinner, but will be back later.
