Steve Irwin's Memorial Service to Air on Animal Planet
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, FROM 9-10 P.M. ET/PT. Get a reminder!
(Silver Spring , MD) Animal Planet is airing Steve Irwin's memorial service exclusively in the U.S., commercial-free, on Tuesday, September 19, from 9-10 p.m. ET/PT, with an encore broadcast airing 12-1 a.m. ET/PT. The memorial service, entitled Steve Irwin: He Changed Our World, will be a same-day broadcast (with a two-hour delay) of the event Wednesday morning in Australia.
The public memorial service for the beloved animal conservationist and television personality is being held in the "Crocoseum," a 5,500-seat stadium at Irwin's Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Australia. Members of the Irwin Family, as well as Irwin's long-time friend and producer, John Stainton, are expected to speak. Celebrities and dignitaries worldwide are expected to attend.
Thanks, I don't have sound or video on this puter, either. 'Preciate you thinking of me, anyway!
What was the one I posted a link for yesterday? Oh, that was the poem, I believe - not the song.
She was the most impressive of the service. I was worried that she would not be up to carrying a show without him as they are planning, but I'm no longer worried. She could easily carry a show that is a cross between Kratt's Creatures and the Wiggles.
Steve gave her a lot of confidence. For some reason Brian loading the truck really moved me--so symbolic.
I saw the screen caps that naturalman put up on the other thread and I know there will be video on the MSM tomorrow and then Terri and Bindi on with BWalters next week. I'm OK with all that.
(As long as Baba Waa doesn't go on and on about how Bob is too young to be on with her yada yada - that was so rude to put that in her press release. Only maroons would've expected her to interview a 2-year-old-almost-3-year-old! Why mention it at all?)
I just knew Bindi would be adorable - "channeling" her Daddy, for sure! Crikey!

RIP Steve Irwin Bump!
Just watched it here on the West Coast. Kleenex box on knee.
Everyone is born with a tiny spark of G-dliness in them. Some people cover theirs with so much cr@p it's like it doesn't seem they could have come from G-d at all.
And then there are some, like Steve Irwin, whose little spark of G-dliness is so bright it lights up the entire planet, men and beasts. May he rest in peace and may his family receive the comfort they need from Above and from all the world grieving with them.
Bindi was really remarkable... Very nice memorial. I think I would like for all the people at my memorial to be holding some critter. :~)

Amen!
We should not speculate on it but no one can say whether or not he "knew the Lord". That is speculation as well. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can tell a person whether or not he or she is a Christian. Did Steve make a public profession of faith?
I had the BIG box of Kleenex...and I needed it. There was just enough laughter to remind us all of what we lost. Prayers for his family and friends. They have huge responsibilities and will need great strength to carry on...
Thank you for expressing my own thoughts far more eloquently and peacefully than I would have. If the 'usual suspects' who feel compelled to post stuff like 'oh gee I sure hope he knew Jesus' would get their heads out of their derrieres they might realize how patronizing and inappropriate such comments are at a time like this. They need to learn to keep their mouths shut and preach to the world through their own actions.
Anyone who claims to have definitive knowledge as to who is saved or not is full of shale, so to speak. Spoken as a Christian who does not claim to be able to read people's minds, their hearts, or God's.
Nobody really pointed out how much Russell Crowe loved Steve...they were best friends...it was very emotional to just watch him choke up. God Bless Steve Irwin and his family...such pain...too soon.
If there really is such a place, can you imagine what it was like at "Rainbow Bridge" at his passing?
Mark
Steve loved his dog Sui so very much. I had hoped Sui would have been mentioned at his memorial.
Thanks for the ping!
I was last night at my cat/kitten rescue and adoption no-kill shelter monthly general meeting. In a special way I was honoring Steve Irwin's memory by attending. Thank-you for the URL since I did not get to see the service on Animal Planet.
