Strange, absolutely, and perhaps one of the most (and deliberately) botched murder investigations in the past several decades. The problem with the Ramseys is that they were involved with local politics ('Rat, of course) and had links up to then-Gov. Roy Romer (another 'Rat who interestingly refused to do anything about the botched investigation), so there was one reason why they were given such incredible preferential treatment from the start (using just basic common-sense, the parents should've been the #1 suspects given the dynamics).

Add to that, the Boulder D.A. supposedly had almost zero experience with murder investigations (IIRC, her murder was the ONLY one in Boulder that particular year), something that could've been better handled by calling in experts from down the road in Denver (where murders are a frequent event).

Personally, I was one of those that believed there was some sort of sick sexual abuse going on (frankly, anyone involved in those child beauty pageants creep me out, some consider it nothing but a cover for pedophiles). Now if the father or mother themself didn't actually murder their child, they surely knew who did, and probably was someone involved with those pageants, ostensibly a "well respected" person (of whom has never been convicted of a crime, if the DNA has never been able to match an existing convicted sex offender -- assuming the DNA wasn't a plant, though I don't want to sound too conspiracy-minded here !). Of course, if it came to light, and that person was found, it might've blown open that entire nefarious community. In the end, it may only be known to God precisely what happened, but there is simply no way the parents were not directly or peripherally responsible for their child's death. Of course, now one of them is gone, and whatever the father knows, absent finding this "person", he will take it to the grave.

*One added thing, the father tried to run for the Michigan House of Representatives -- as a Republican (!) -- in 2004. Fortunately, the state party and activists were sufficiently unnerved by the guy to deny him a primary nomination.

Well, I hear that Boulder is a very liberal community, and nothing that happens in liberal communities surprises me anymore. In addition, I also hear that it is a fairly wealthy community. Rich liberals indulging themselves, and then covering it all up afterwards, using all means at their disposal, would not surprise me either I suppose. I shudder to think about what must happen behind closed doors in some of the ultra-wealthy, ultra-liberal communities in the San Francisco Bay area.

However, if he was so well-connected in democrat circles, and so "comfortable" living in liberal Boulder, why did John Ramsey try to run for office as a Republican in Michigan?? Seems that if he was so well-connected with such powerful dems, he should have run as one. In addition, I would think that dems would be more inclined to vote for someone like him, as opposed to Republicans.

As I said before, very strange stuff!! You are unfortunately right, we may never know what really happened.
