I wouldn't be surprised to find that they think Sondhi's new position is a break for them,

This is going to make it much harder for the seperatists. They used the former prime minister as a scapegoat to get converts. They can't do it anymore. This is going to take away a lot of their steam.

Well, I hope so. Everywhere we look, there seem to be Muzzie separatists or insurgents or terrorists working overtime to wreak havoc. I hated to think Thailand was the next to go. Parts of that whole area, Phillipines, East Timor, Tamil, others, have felt the disruptions by these terrorists. In Africa, it's worse, with all out war by 'rebels'. It was the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard about tanks rolling through Bangkok. I hope that Sondhi can make it a lot harder for them.

You may be interested to see this:

Sonthi: Civilian govt in 2 weeks (Thailand)

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Two weeks seems fairly rapid. I hope he can keep it as a civilian run, 'free' society.
