Senator John F. Kerry yesterday called for a new national commitment to reduce the number of abortions,saying that both sides on the abortion debate can reach "common ground" on the sharply divisive cultural issue that was prominent in his defeat in the 2004 presidential election.

See he just stold a play from Bill Clinton's book. BC said the same thing. Just more Leftist Lies.
Great. Let's start by reducing Partial Birth Abortions.
If you can't support that, you are not serious.
Kerry: I had an abortion before I didn't have one.

I bet even Himmler had a moment like this.
Hilary already beat him to it. Further evidence of how powerful the pro life movement has become in our country - the Dems are tip-toeing now, but in a few years they will abandon the pro-aborts completely. Abortion is toast.
Who agrees that we need bigger government?
When liberals talk about reducing abortions, they mean welfare for new moms who can't afford to raise children. That sounds like a noble idea, but it does nothing to encourage personal responsibility and (as we saw before 1994 welfare reform) actually encourages women to have children they can't afford. It also helps to create an underclass of children who grow up dependent on govt handouts.
I'm working on it.Not my strong suit.
What does 'common ground' mean? This is not a temporary fix - either you stop abortions or you continue (sadly) them. Oh...lets see, lets only kill three babies today instead of how many we killed yesterday - eight or whatever. Does that make you feel better?
Good for you! If I can help, let me know.
"common ground" = "please go along with us and help fund at least some baby killing, I mean, why are you people such absolutists when it comes to protecting human life that we all know is innocent, I mean, don't you realize that someitmes murder is allright"
* Requirements that abortion clinics advise women about adoption options;
* Requirements that women view an ultrasound of the baby they are about to abort;
* Requirements that abortion clinics not refer to the baby as a fetus or a blob of matter or make unsupported statements about the fetus not experiencing pain;
* Requirements that women counsel with pro-life counselors before they have an abortion;
* Allowing a cooling off period of, say, a week between the first consultation and the abortion; and
* Allowing hospitals and doctors not to perform abortions if they don't want to.
Were Kerry to start advocating these instead of more welfare and more condoms, I might take him seriously. But he won't because he is not interested in reducing the incidence of abortion, only the effect of abortion on his campaign.
``I wandered in the wilderness, went through a divorce, and struggled with questions about my direction," Kerry said. ``Then, suddenly and movingly, I had a revelation about the connection between the work I was doing as a public servant and my formative teachings."No kidding, it's the closing line of this loathesome propaganda piece.
Cultural Issue? It's a MORAL issue for me.
