NAIROBI, Kenya An elderly nun shot four times at the Somali hospital where she worked forgave her killers as she lay dying, colleagues said Monday in the wake of a murder that has focused attention on Islamic radicalism in the Horn of Africa country. This is a very Christian act. We must remember that when a Christian forgives, the Christian does not nullify the sin. The Christian merely places the responsibility for justice in G-d's hands, which are very capable.
Shalom.
This is one reason I believe --- I
have to believe --- in God and in the life to come. We poor humans have an enormous thirst for justice, and we do not see justice in this world. Nursing nuns get shot in the back, pregnant mothers and their children get butchered, and our hearts just cry out at the outrage.
The blind forces of materialistic evolution could not have put a soul in us that cries out for justice, for the utter defeat of the Enemy of Mankind and for the glorious triumph of all that is merciful and beautiful and innocent and good. The love of justice in our souls comes from the Mind of God: the true God. Not the twisted entity that possesses the deluded hearts and lying lips of the mujaheddin and their perverse and murderous prophet.
