STATEMENT FROM FASO SPOKESWOMAN SUSAN DEL PERCIO:
MORE FALSE ADVERTISING FROM THE SPITZER CAMPAIGN
In a new television advertisement Eliot Spitzer claims he toured Democrat Lieutenant Governor candidate David Paterson's childhood school, walking through halls with signs labeled Trustworthy Turnpike, Honesty Road and Integrity Lane. As reported by NY1 in New York City, Eliot Spitzer never toured the school.
Faso Spokeswoman Susan Del Percio issued the following statement:
"It seems that when Mr. Spitzer came to Honesty Road he missed the turn because he was too focused on another street ahead: Ambition Avenue. If we can't take Mr. Spitzer's word about touring a school, how can we take him at his word that he won't raise taxes?
"This is the third time Mr. Spitzer has not been upfront with New Yorkers in his advertising. Perhaps that is why he has turned down even more debates with John Faso."
Today the NY post on page 6 referred to Faso as "hapless". Why are they doint this? Has everybody been intimidated by Spitzer?
Sorry...it looks like you want to pretend Faso is a conservative.
have fun with that...eh
Spitzer is a thug every bit as much as Gotti.
Spitzer is a meglomaniac. He would be a terrible governor. And we could get stuck with him for 12 years or more! Faso is a conservative which is why the NY GOP is not helping him.
That's right...I got turned over on this one.
There's Faso...the conservative...and, the GOP, seeking a liberal.
Yes - they will not allow a conservative to win. And when they say "moderate" they mean LIBERAL.
GOP Republicans open up on FASO.
Well, in a different way. He's more of a catatonic.
It is a rough division, with many exceptions, but generally, country club Republicans = money = are Republican because they want lower taxes = are not Republican for social conservative issues. But John IS a lower-taxes kind of guy as well.
My prediction is that Spencer will do much better in November than Faso.
The New York County headquarters is not helping matters by displaying McFarland literature on the table as you walk in (um, yes, she is off the ballot, but someone seems not to care), Faso literature only if you climb the stairs to the second floor, and Spencer literature nowhere.
New York State ping list: Some thoughts on the Faso race from juliej and various other freepers.
Hoo ha!
The fact that Patrick Barrett, the former head of the State Party, has given $50,0000 to Spitzer is a stomach turner. I may never go to a county meeting again.
Us NY Conservatives/Republicans are in for a tougher ride.
Actually, I don't think being pro life or somewhat pro life is the "problem" - I think these RINOs just think that Spitzer is unbeatable and are jumping on his band wagon. They will regret it - he will do nothing for them. I am sicked also by the way the media is totally ignoring John Faso. He has a great background and I am sure he is not running to take a bullet for the party.
I am in despair over this!
It's not an upstate downstate thing...it's a liberal urban college liberal UNION govt job/check thing Vs a conservative, small town small business non union rural and suburban thing.
That said, I would love to get rid of NYC along with the UN. The only other element that will possibly change NYS politics is if the Taylor Laws are reformed...right now the unions call the shots.
There are many factors in the partial abandoning of our candidate, and people knowing which side their bread is buttered on is certainly one of them. A race can tip in favor of a candidate when he is too far ahead, especially for an influential race like governor.
I still think there is an ideological problem with the nonconservative Republicans, though. They could be giving to congressional and senatorial candidates in other states who face tough contests, too, putting their money where it can do the most good.
Meanwhile, a pox on those who are merely deserting what they see as a sinking ship. Or if rats can't get poxes, then may their cheese be laced with D-Con.
"Upstate needs its own state."
Definitely. Hillary made promises to upstate / western NY when she was elected, but has ignored them completely. (I know -- anyone who believed anything Hillary said was stupid.) The place is dying. There are wonderful, down-home, decent people outside in western NY, and they're subsidizing the lazy losers in the city.
I have watched year after year as good people leave the state for safe (and affordable) havens like NC and FLA.
Here in Suffolk county we went from Republican bastion to Democrat control in 6-8 years......
.....I would leave if I could....
.....get out while you can.
