Yeah they usually only respond to case law. There are numerous briefs that are misspelled. I run spell check usually. Thanks for bringing that up. I have a bad habit of words that are spelled almost the same and mean different things. :-)

It isn't after the execution, it is all of the stuff leading up to it. Texas is no different than any other state. The taxpayers there paying a lot of moneys for the death penalty. I just feel that there are things in this nation that are far more important than committing murder as I said outside or inside the walls. An execution is pre-meditated murder and it is down to the wire done by the book. This is where all the moneys goes.

OK, like the murder, rape, and mayhem committed by the convicted. Gotcha. If we could simply overlook these atrocities and quit snuffing the poor, oppressed criminals that are granted a full appeals process; everything would be sunshine and rainbows. Personally, I am proud of my state legislature. Even though I do not agree totally with the DP. All of the "stuff leading up to it" (the carrying out of the sentence handed down by a jury) is important. As long as there remains a court of appeals, it is not up to my personal convictions or beliefs. Unless you would like to install me as the supreme leader, which even I believe to be a poor idea.

The thing that makes me not agree with the DP is the innocent that have been sitting on DR and the innocent that have already been executed. When an innocent person gets executed, they cannot bring them back after they find out that they really did not commit the crime. That is really sad. Anyone and anytime could be stuck in that type of situation.

No, the real tragedy is when we let some POS murderer go on breathing for years and years, during which many of them commit more murders. If you were truly concerned with protecting the innocent, you'd realize that far more die at the hands of previously convicted murderers, both within the prisons and by the paroled, than the State could ever remotely execute by accidental conviction.

The idea that "Anyone and anytime could be stuck in that type of situation" is risible. You cannot name a single person executed since the restoration of the DP by the SCOTUS that has been found to have been an innocent. I, on the other hand, could document hundreds of innocents killed by recidivist murderers.

The most recent execution in California was of a man who had three innocent people assassinated who had testified against him for a previous murder. He had them killed from his jail cell, where he was serving LWOP for murdering two other people. That's 5 innocent people killed , three of them because of squishes like you, who haven't the stomach to cut out a cancer.

But, the most disgusting thing about your argument is that we shouldn't seek justice and protect our society because you think it would cost too much. Well, then, maybe we can dig a few less multi-billion dollar leaky holes in the ground in Boston. That oughta pay for it.

I agree that NO-ONE that is innocent should be murdered. I don't really have much of a comment other than this because I am not the type of person that likes to argue. Everyone has a right to their opinion. I respect yours and everyone elses. Have a nice day. :-)

Dayton is only one of thousands that throughout America that are costing the taxpayers money. Just imagine how much money it would be in all if you added up all the appeals in the nation.

What is your remedy?

The same thing that is done throughout the entire world. Life without parole.

There is a LOT of money floaing around. The solution to everything is money. China, in their wisdom, owns a $ trillion or so of notes.

But, the debt, public plus private is approaching $20 trillion, which just happens to be the value of housing. So far so good. When it all comes crashing down, China will be looking at $ 0 of paper or electronic bits, which might bother China and nobody else. Funny money.

I'm pro death penalty, but when I was in college I had to take a debate class. The topic I was given was the death penalty, but the "pro" side was already taken so I had to argue "con". The research proved to be very interesting.

You're right, it costs much more to execute than to pay for LIP because of the appeal costs.

My remedy would be to shorten to absurd appeals process so that they don't drag on for years and years. In California there are so many levels of automatic appeals it's mind boggling.

Life without parole.

Doesn't work. Murderers are still able to murder again while serving LWOP. They commonly do. They are also often able to continue criminal connections to the outside. Lots of Mexican Mafia hits are ordered from within prison. It is strongly believed that "Tookie" Williams continued to exert control over the Crips from prison. It is positive that he almost murdered a guard while in prison, and was almost murdered himself in another fight.

I do know one thing. There are a huge amount of people outside the walls that are killing people every single day and get this; they get a way with it legally. That is really sad.

Prison is Prison. People are there for killing people. I would venture to say that the guard probally pissed him off. Not that it gives him a reason to murder that guard but it very well could have been self-defense. I usually don't believe much of what I read or see on the news because a majority of the time, they are way off of the true facts in criminal cases. I am a person that has to see to believe and I wasn't there so I really can't say one way or another what REALLY did happen.

MA list.

This is so extremely wrong and unjust that it is a horrible crime.

1. Why does he have a "team" of defense lawyers?
2. Why did he have THREE sentencing trials?
3. Why were his other death penalties overturned?
4. Why does this automatically go to the OR SC?
5. Why does the appeal have 10 steps?
6. Why do the OR taxpayers have to shell out huge bucks for this insanity?
7. Why wasn't the sick fiend taken out in back of the courthouse after his first sentencing and shot in the back of the head?
