It was a sensational victory for Maria Sharapova, gifted with beauty and talent, in the recently concluded U.S. Open tennis championship.
Its amazing how the 19-year-old tennis star demolished the defending champion and world #1 woman player Amelie Mauresmo with a lopsided 6-0, 4-6, 6-0 score.
Was Amelie distracted by her opponents beauty or was her focus not on the ball but on something else?

Whats inspiring with Sharapova is that even at the crest of success, she hasnt forgotten to recognize the role of God in her life. Listen to her "homily" about succeeding enunciated days before the US Open.
"What tennis has brought me has been incredible. God gave me a talent, but it was up to me to play my part in it.
"I dont believe in just Godgiven talent, you have to work for everything you earn and I think the combination has helped me."

Briefly, Sharapova is saying that God blesses us with talents but its up to us to do our counterpart in order to succeed. That "counterpart" means concretely a lot of sacrifice, long and dreary hours of practice, self-discipline and perseverance. Remember the dictum: "What you are is Gods gift to you; what you become is your gift to God."
Sharapovas religious principle is something we all can learn from, not only in sports but in all human endeavors academics, business, positions of leadership.
Talent on loan from God...
Cute. (sarcasm off)
You most likely are right with your comment, even though you are on that high horse of yours.

I'm not gay (not that there is anything wrong with that), so I am not familiar with some of the other reactions that Ameilia could perhaps have had at the net. You seem like you may know. Fill me in, if you do.
Nevertheless I like both players quite a lot, and I think, from all that I have read, that Amelia Mauresmo is a pretty darn good human being too!
There is no accounting for taste.
;-)
Well different tastes I guess. I found it no more "lousy" than your bananna picture. Although it did give me a laugh.
Those pictures of her back around three years ago are not so good. No offense, but her legs were too thin back then.
Now that she's getting stronger and working on her lower body, she'll continue to win more.
Good for her.
She has legs????
Interesting that she is as much (more?) of a champion that she is beautiful. It makes her that much more attractive.
If you were using the brain that God gave you, you would know that I DID NOT POST that banana picture, genius.
By the way.... check your banana spelling .... (no double "n").
She is so pretty.
Yes indeed. Thanks for that.
Yes, she has a wide open and honest face........ and a very good mind.
Yes, and from the article again:
"Whats inspiring with Sharapova is that even at the crest of success, she hasnt forgotten to recognize the role of God in her life."
Oops my bad. Looked at the wrong place. Not too coordinated
this morning. Spelling has never been my stong suit more of a math guy. Don't need to get testy I didn't say the picture was lousy I said no more "lousy" no better no worse. Different people different tastes. That's all no more discussion.
It's cool......... at least you came toi a good thread with a great tennis girl.
:-)
Have a good day.
Lucky banana!

I'm not gay, if that's what you're wondering, but I've known a number of gay men and women over the years. Most of them I've known were pretty much like heterosexuals in that they were attracted to some people and not to others. They didn't necessarily get the hots just because somebody was good looking. And they were certainly much less likely to get the hots if they knew the other person wasn't gay.
Presumably, Amelia likes being licked...
Where are those pictures of Maria with her six toes, by the way?
;-)
