Collings are niiiice guitars. A couple I've heard have been a little bass-ey/boomy (probably more the way it was set up) but a wonderful clear tone.
My ax is a Martin HD-28 I've had since the early 80's.
Oh, and al qaeda and the rest of the scumbags can stick a fork in their eye. I do not recognize their moon-god.
My Collings is very even across the whole dynamic range. Not boomy at all. It records great!
I love the sound of D-28s but I don't have one. My brother has a D-35 that I play sometimes; but I prefer my Collings. I picked it out of about 20 or so that I tried because its got that mojo in the sound.
