Keith Ellison's Excuse Brigade -- the "don't touch Keith" crowd in the DFL, the media and the blogosphere -- has gone into overdrive for the man who is the DFL's choice to represent Minnesota's Fifth Congressional District in our nation's capital.
The Brigade cut its teeth on Ellison's 40 or so unpaid parking tickets, and his nine moving violations since 2000. Its candidate hit the campaign trail in June with a suspended driver's license, thanks to his failure to pay his fines. This was nothing new for Ellison, who seemed unfazed. "I don't know how many prior suspensions I've had," he told the Star Tribune. "I don't keep count."

Katherine Kersten is the sole GOP voice at the Red Star. Her columns are hard-hitting and take no prisoners.
You can tell how easily she irritates the fellow traveller/useful idiots when the Letters To The Editor are full of self-righteous idignation responses to one of her columns.
Folks, if you didn't know much about Keith Ellison before - this column will fill you in on what you need to know.
Comments or opinions - anyone?
Minnesota PING List!
Let me know if you want on or off this list!
I thought you knew Congress was above the law.
WTF?????????????????????????????
If this guy was elected, how could he qualify for a security clearance to view classified documents or testimony that would be necessary as a member of congress?
Can you give us a quick who what where when why deal on this race?
He is the dem nominee to run against?
Is his opponent a rino or con?
History of voting area?
Any polls out on the race?
thanks!
I was stuned by the headline and the Strib link, until I noticed it was a Kersten piece. They'll find a way to get rid of her.
What I find particularly sleazy on Ellison's part is his willingness to have his wife take the blame for all of his legal/money problems. We are told that she handles all of his legal and financial affairs and she also suffers from MS, which sometimes affects her mental processes, especially her memory. So, she forgets to pay his parking tickets and file his candidate forms in a timely manner.
In my book, that's spousal abuse. Typical of a radical muslim.
Put me on the list.
Hey, a "bad" driving record is no indication of politics or security.
Who cares about such crap when our southern border is being invaded, islamists are attacking, and you can't even get through airports in a timely manner?
Thanks for the ping, Steve.
What I find particulary interesting, and disturbing, is how excited the Somali Muslims are about Ellison. They can't wait to get their foot in the door of government and this alone should be disturbing to all Minnesotans and the rest of the country. Unfortunately, he doesn't use his muslim name so people don't pay attention like they do with Barack Obama.
O hope there are many more articles on this and thanks for posting them for us.
Powerline's been on this guy since June

I know.
Powerline has done yeoman's work in covering Ellison's many problems.
It's too bad more 5th District voters didn't read this blog. But then again, most 5th District voters are flaming liberals and blogs like Powerline don't rate high on their list of priorities.

Did you bother to read the article? I think not. This is not about a driving record.
Go back and read the article. Keith Ellison is a Louis Farrakhan, Nation of Islam supporter that wants to be the first Muslim in the U.S. Congress.
He also defended a POS cop killer in Minneapolis and held rallies on the killer's behalf. This guy is big trouble with a capital "T".
Whine about airport delays elsewhere.
Ellison is a muslim, which is how you say "POS" in one six letter word.
I'm sorry I didn't get my point across. Right thinking folks should stop clogging folks' minds with this little stuff (driving records, dope smoking, etc.) and focus on the issues of major importance to the nation.....such as border security, airline security, "reverse" racism, taxes, spending, racial quotas, special rights for islamists, etc.
Kersten's piece in the Red Star was quite succinct regarding Ellison's ties to Farrakhan.
The emphasis was not on his driving record, though a lead-in. Ellison's problems as a potential U.S. Congressman run much deeper, and I think she did a good job pointing that out.
We here in Minnesota, on the conservative side, are not trying to clog people's minds with the little stuff. This guy is dangerous and we have an appreciation for it, and are doing our best to counteract it. Not easy to do when the main paper could best be said run my Mao Tse Tung.
The cities here are very, very blue. We're in the frontline come this November. I really don't think you understand what we're dealing with in this state.
I have some good clues as to what you're up against. I do not plan to ever live, or for that matter even visit MN due to issues such as you're describing. It's probably better than even chances that when some dude from GA gets pulled for speeding, his truck gets searched for guns, etc. so I'm staying south.
IMO, Farrakhan and his NOI minions are deportable under the Sedition Act.
Minnesota is a beautiful state, especially when you get away from the tall buildings, AKA lefty land. We made the choice two years ago and have never looked back. We love the rural area we live in now.
A dude from GA would be welcome here. The local (great burgers!) bar has a Guns Welcome sign proudly displayed. When you get away from the fever swamp, this is a great state. One of my son's classmate's is from Georgia. They have a stable just outside of town. Good folks. I'm glad to call them neighbors.
On that mention of school (classmates) better hit the hay! My day starts at 6 am. Nice talking with you.
Nice to hear that!
At any rate, the left/right conflict is really more urban vs. rural than anything else. I'm sure even the French countryside is full of nice folk!
Good to meet you. I may drop in someday if I can find something big enough to haul the beer for the trip!
Considering he has a well-documented history of islamofascist tendencies himself, one can easily discern his politics with some rudimentary research.
