That's a nice idea but it will never work. People generally come onto political forums with a closed mind.
Not true, jj; my mind isn't closed. It's in an empty head.
I'll bet if there was a FR poll most freepers would gladly see him return. We Conservatives still out number you left-of-center types here.......though our numbers are dwindling.
I've always looked upon myself as your court jester and now I'm just another pretty face?
Best you keep reading.
We're ALL conservatives here.
Would you support Giulliani if he were to get the GOP nomination?
bttt
Over Clinton/Gore/Kerry, et al? What do you think?
Then my dad kicked me outa the house and I moved to Bel-Aire...
You mean Bel Air, a ritzy section of LA?
Excellent. The left gets a taste of its own medicine.
....Over Clinton/Gore/Kerry, et al? What do you think?
Then I guess we'd better fight like the dickens to make sure Giuliani gets beat in the primaries. His nomination would literally destroy the party.
(Not to mention the fact that he would lose in the general.)
Typical coward. Picking a fight with someone who can't respond. It fits you, cakeboy.
I don't know if he'd lose to Hillary, but you're right. Hope he's not the one.
No, silly. The back seat of my 57 Chevy!
FOTFLOL! Hey, that was (and is) a neat car --- the '57. Still have it? :)
Great post.
I think his personal baggage makes him damaged goods against anyone.
Aside from that, when you consider the closeness of the past two elections, and the effect social issues had, it's clear the GOP nominee cannot win without securing the large portion of so-called "values voters."
Giuliani has catered to abortion groups like NARAL with equal, if not more extreme rhetoric than Hillary. Their position on abortion is identical, but Hillary knows how to temper it to sound good. Giuliani, sad to say, eagerly panders against that finesse.
With Giuliani as the nominee, enough of pro-life (and pro-marriage) voters would be turned off to stay home on election day, no matter who the Democrat opponent is. Just the facts.
Hope he's not the one.
We'd best get to work, then. ;)
FReegards.
Home, sweet home!
Sure they do. And that is the point. We have posters on a conservative forum attacking liberals and we have posters on a conservative forum attacking conservatives. One of these things really shouldn't be happening on a conservative forum, especially not at the frequency that it has been happening.
For example, Rep. Tom Tancredo has just about the most conservative record of anyone in the House of Representatives right now. Yet, the very mention of his name in any thread here draws out every Tancredo Trasher on the internet despite his impeccable conservative record. Outright libel is committed against conservative Tom Tancredo with impunity right here on this conservative forum.
On the other hand, Rudy Giuliani is the most liberal Republican politician being considered as a presidential nominee. His liberal record and views would make a Democrat blush. Yet, when conservative posters on this conservative forum rightfully point out his liberal record and, yes, attack his record, they are besieged by posters who seem to forget that this is a conservative forum.
Yes, the attacks go both ways. But, this being a conservative forum, they should not. We should promote conservatives and conservative causes and we work to be obstacles to liberals and liberal causes. But, instead, I see a whole lot of promoting centrism, moderatism, and yes even liberalism in the name of something else that certainly is NOT conservatism.
OK. I've made my point. Now it is your turn to post your typically flippant response. Whatever...
