Well,I will first to agree with you that there ARE a lot of liberal white elitists who look down smugly on lower class whites for being bigots while they themselves are just as rigidly segregated in their schools and residences.
Example-during my flirtations with The Left back in Fall of 1968,I joined out of curiosity a group of about 200 Yippies and white SDS types to protest a George Wallace speech.We all got a big kick out of fighting and yelling at working class whites who thought Wallace would save them from"the nigras".
Yet almost everyone there protesting were white and middle class.Our lives were just as"white"as those rednecks.We just lived in more exclusive areas than they did.What a bunch of phonies we were.
I still don't care much for the"white power"types that were at those rallies cheering Wallace..But I see now how fake and hypocritical the white Left is.

You are of course 100% correct in your assessment. Getting all lathered-up with regard to race relations is very fashionable these days. The people who yell loudest about all their "black friends" are the worst offenders. They live in gated communities twenty miles from the nearest black family. They have 9-1-1 on the speed dial just in case they see a stranger [read: black person] in their development. That kind of intellectual dishonesty is what is really pathetic.
