Thank you for your service, Tommie. And for those you lost at Iwo. Please make sure that you put down your experiences, regardless of the format, for the benefit of your family, and future generations.
Sure wish I could have the honor of meeting you, but since I can't all I can say is "Semper Fi".
All My Best,
Deborah Leigh
former Sgt, US Army
Deborah:
Thank you for the response. To thank me for my service is not necessary, we all should thank all of the service members that are now fighting for us. (Also all those that have fought and all of those that will fight.)Here I sit at my computer being 82 years old and still wish that I could be one of them in Iraq. I really don't think that the MARINE CORPS could use me in my present condition. (Not that I am not able to take care of my self and my wife of 61 years.) I still work my 40 hours each week and do my part for Free Republic. Thanks again.
Good evening and the very best to you and yours.
Semper Fi
Tommie
